Sharp.com search interface showing location results for 'urgent care' in San Diego, CA 92101, with Sharp Rees-Stealy Downtown Urgent Care as first result displaying building photo, open status, address, phone number, and walk-in wait time

The Problem

Sharp.com patients faced three separate search tools that didn't connect: Find a Doctor, Locations, and general search. Users couldn't find doctors or locations through general search and had to conduct multiple searches for simple tasks.

My Role & Approach

As UX/UI Designer, I partnered with the UX and Development Architects to run a design sprint that validated our approach, defined critical implementation details, and produced finalized wireframes.

The Solution

Unified Search Experience

Designed an intelligent search interface that consolidates four result categories (All, Doctors, Locations, and Related Pages), allowing patients to find what they need in one place.

All Page – Comprehensive Results

Created an All page that displays categorized results based on search relevancy, reducing cognitive load by maintaining visual consistency across individual category pages.

Category-Specific Views

Each category maintains contextual filters (specialty/insurance for doctors; location type/medical group for locations) and optimized result layouts for efficient decision-making.
